PAST RUNS
CLARE- INCHIQUIN LAKE RESERVE 2020
Club cars gathered at Carisbrooke Park, Salisbury Heights and left as a convoy to head towards Clare with a short diversion through the main street of Gawler. The drive was without any problems except for one car with overheating issues. Weather was once again perfect and even better at Clare. We had a good gathering of cars with 12 driving up, 1 joining us from Port Pirie and a local car heard we where in town and came to join us. The miniture railway was running and a few members made the most of the train rides. A great place to go for a picnic lunch and take the kids and Grand kids for those of us that are old enough for a fun day riding the trains. Just need to check which week they are running. Possible 2 new members from the day as well.
CLUB RUN TO MURRAY BRIDGE
We had a couple of starting points 1 at Bonythan Park and the second was Crafers. Once the city folk assembled they headed for Crafers as well. We headed for the Bridge at 10:40 and drove a few back street to Bridgewater and then headed down to Hahndorf were we lost Moro and Sue. "Car problems". We the continued onto Littlehampton, Nairne, Callington and on to Murray Bridge. Mark Bruce joined the chain of cars as we came of the old highway. The day was fine but cool. However, the company was warm. Nigel and Heidi supplied their Cortina Cakes for desert. Great Day had by all.
SMALL FORD DAY 2020
It was time to get the car out and take it on its first real run since the rebuild so I headed for Birdwood, a few noises at first or so I thought but the car ran beautifully. It was a glorious morning for a drive. A few club members came out for the show, which was as they stated their largest to date, a good group drove over from Victoria for the show. I and Paul won a prize in the raffle. I thought it was a worthwhile event.
2020 ALL BRITISH DAY
Breakfast at Mt Barker was the first call for the day, bacon and egg sadnwich with juice and coffee. A good crowd arrived for a feed and chat, at 9:30 it was off th Echunga for the All British Day display on the oval. A large number of British cars were spead out over the 2 ovals. A great day
2019 CHRISTMAS MYSTERY RUN
The morning started with rain and a cold wind, not what one would expect at this time of year. I left the Mk 1 under cover and jumped into Sue’s car and headed down the freeway to Bonython Park to meet up with the rest of the club family crazy enough to come out for a drive to who knows where. At 10:45 we were handed instructions and headed for the drive out north. As the instructions suggested we needed to head onto West Tce, this must have been a difficult instruction as we noticed some headed straight up North Tce. We turned into South Tce, and then left into King William Rd. It had been years since I have been down King William Rd, and onto North Adelaide and out Main North Rd. It was a quite and pleasant drive to St Kilda. The hotel has been refurbished to a nice and clean building. The meal I had was very nice and I had other reports from members that their meals were also of a high standard. Door prizes were drawn after the meals. Then it was time to head home. A great day, thank you Henry and Meredith for once again organising a wonderful day.
30th ANNIVERSARY
The day started at 7:30 for the committee to get to Mylor to get things ready for the day, place out the signs and set up chairs and tables. By 9am there where cars arriving and by 10am we had 52 cars on the oval and plenty of people milling around talking and looking. Thank you everyone who came out the weather was perfect, not too hot and the rain held off until we aqll headed home. I have place a few pictures of the day, far too many to place here.
